Suddenly extreme sports can take on a new dimension when scuba diving is thrown into the mix. The Grand Cayman is the largest island of all three Cayman Islands. Its capital is George Town and it is home to some of the most beautiful diving spots and beaches in the world. It is a rather small island which has no fresh water sources. Grand Cayman’s underwater diving spots are among the most beautiful and rich with marine life. There are around 250 scuba diving spots within this small island and its surrounding area, which equates to many Grand Cayman scuba diving resorts and dive shops as well.
The Grand Cayman scuba diving experience is magnified by underwater visibility that reaches up to almost a hundred feet which is a testimony to the clarity of the seas here. The waters are also quite warm and offer exciting diving. The marine life in the area is varied and very interesting. The marine life here tolerate humans as a whole, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Manta Rays abound in the shallow waters of some parts of the island and dolphins also frolic near the shore.

Bonnie’s Arch is one of the best Grand Cayman scuba diving spots. This dive spot has a wall where many marine animals live their daily lives and there are also some sea turtles here. The most notable coral formation is the arch which is why the dive spot is so named.
There are also numerous Grand Cayman scuba diving spots which are amazing and have clear waters which reach around 60 to 80 feet. The ecosystems in these walls are varied and very interesting to watch. There are two basic wall dive spots in the island and these reefs vary according to their depth. As usual, most of the marine life is tolerant of divers and they are not as easily spooked as other marine animals in other dive areas in the world.
